July 4th Kurten Fireworks ShowThe 10th Annual Kurten Fireworks Show presented by the Brazos County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department will take place on July 4th at the Kurten Community Center. Take a short country drive to Kurten, bring your lawn chairs and sit back and enjoy the best show in the county. Gates will open at 5:00 PM for parking and concessions will be available beginning at 6:00 PM. The show will begin approximately 30 minutes after dark. Click here to download the flyer.
Due to the extremely dry conditions in the region, Brazos County District 2 VFD will be taking all precautions to ensure we have a safe and fun event. With assistance from neighboring fire departments, apparatus and personnel will be stationed at the Community Center and on adjoining property during the evening to monitor conditions and provide a fire response if needed.
We urge all residents to review the Brazos County Aerial Fireworks Order banning certain fireworks in unincorporated areas of Brazos County and to use extreme caution celebrating this 4th of July.
Under current conditions, just one stray spark can trigger a hazardous fire and cause serious damage to your own or your neighbor's property. Let’s be safe and have a happy Fourth of July!
