The Brazos\n County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer \nnon-profit emergency services organization that protects an estimated \n6,000 people living in an area of 133 square miles located in north \neastern Brazos County, Texas. We provide fire, rescue and EMS services \nto the residential, commercial and rural areas in our communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  Precinct\n Two Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1977 as an all volunteer \nfire department in response to the need for fire suppression in NE \nBrazos County. At that time, the department stationed trucks at members\u2019\n homes and notified members of incidents by phone calls from the Chief\u2019s\n wife. In the early \u201980\u2019s, the first fire station was built in Kurten \nfollowed by the second station in Edge in the late 80\u2019s. In 1997, the \ndepartment was renamed District Two Volunteer Fire Department. Today, we\n have three stations housing nine pieces of apparatus including two \nengines, two tenders, four brush trucks and one utility truck. We are \nsupported by the ESD #2, Brazos County and donations. Although we are \nfunded by tax dollars, your contributions are still needed and \nappreciated.   District 2 VFD \naverages just over 4oo calls per year. With mutual and auto aid \nagreements in place, we work closely with several local departments to \nprovide quality care and service to our citizens. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
