20th Annual Kurten Fireworks Show

The Brazos County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department will once again be putting on the best fireworks show in the area! This is the 20th annual Kurten Fireworks Show to celebrate the 4th of July while also benefiting those who volunteer to protect it.

It’s at the Kurten Community Center on Tuesday, July 4th, gates open at 5pm with free parking, free admission, and the fireworks start around dark:30: The show is generally 30+ minutes long. Come join us, celebrate, and enjoy an awesome show and great time with friends and family. It is something you do not want to miss.

Our Mission Statement

The purpose of the department shall be the saving of lives and protection of property endangered by fires and other disasters, and to promote the teaching and practice of fire prevention and protection.


Welcome to the Official Site of the Brazos County District 2 Volunteer Fire Department. Founded in 1977, our department has a long tradition of dedicated volunteers that take pride in being highly trained and customer oriented. We are located in northeast Brazos County, Texas, home of the fightin’ Texas Aggies!. We provide fire and rescue services to the citizens of Edge, Kurten, Macey, Tabor, Wixon Valley and surrounding communities.

We meet at Station 1 located at 894 N. FM 2038 in Bryan on a weekly basis every Tuesday evening at 7pm.  We welcome you to join us in serving  our community and experiencing the most amazing sense of pride and satisfaction that comes from giving back to our community and serving others in need!
